What is Soft Soap?
Soft Soap is an alternative to shampoo and is traditionally used for washing Heavy Horses feather. This product is recommended for bathing horses manes, tails and feather. It is made in the UK and is a human grade product.

Soft Soap has been used over many generations for washing Heavy Horses feather. Equioils tripartite soft soap has been specifically formulated to cleanse and rejuvenate the feather. Its rich deep-cleansing lather penetrates to remove the dirt and grease without stripping the feather of its natural and essential oils. It creates an ultra-deep clean for soft silky feather.
Your horse or ponies’ natural oils are often stripped during the bathing process, whether from hot water or harsh products. Glycerin can help lock the natural moisture and prevent over-drying of the skin and hair/feather. Ingredients that have humectant properties act as a type of moisturising agent that pull water into the outer layer of the skin from deeper levels of the skin and the air.
Our Soft Soap is an essential product for the show season and can also be used as part of routine maintenance of the feather and is excellent for getting deep into manes and tails as well.
1. Promotes skin health
Contains: Lavender Oil which draws out toxins and balances the skins natural pH levels. Rich in antibacterial and antimicrobial properties which combat a range of systemic skin problems in feathered equines. It also discourages Chorioptes equi known as feather mites.
2. Stimulates skin/feather growth
Contains: Coconut Oil to condition the hair and provide nourishment. Coconut oil is rich in vitamins and fatty acids, in particular lauric acid to restore the follicles natural lipid barrier. Whilst lauric acid penetrates deep into the hair cortex to strengthen the hair shaft and help prevent breakages, the medium-chain fatty acids also help to combat dryness.
3. Creates and protects
Contains: Caster Oil to create a rich creamy, stable lather which penetrates to remove the dirt and grease, plus its unique fatty-acid which acts as natural humectant all without stripping the feather. Palm Oil R.S.P.O* provides conditioning agents, antioxidants and vitamin E and A, promoting cell growth of the hair follicles. Glycerine is the most effective humectant by providing protection to the skin and eliminating breakage to the feather. All of these key ingredients replenish and enrich the skin and hair/feather whilst creating that ultra-deep clean for soft silky feather.
