APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Equioils Mallenders & Sallanders Salve

Equioils recommend a small 48hr patch test prior to full application of any of our products.

Directions for patch test application:

The patch test should be applied 48 hours prior to full application. Shake well before use. One patch test should be applied per animal to be treated. Apply a small amount to the upper inner thigh. If no reaction occurs such as swelling or irritation, then proceed as directed. If reaction does occur rinse with warm water. If in doubt seek veterinary advice.

Directions for full application:

Ensure the affected area is clean and dry, apply the salve liberally to affected or vulnerable areas, ensuring even coverage. Apply once a day for the first 3-5 days (a longer course of treatment may be needed). Do not pick off the scabs that may be present as this will only inflame the skin. The aim is to soften the hard crusty scab. When softened then gentle attempt to remove the scab. Observe the area often for any signs of new scabs then re-apply as required.
